Red-Orange Shorts

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The welt pockets. And the way I altered the pattern to make the cuffs on the bottom. What advice would you give someone starting this project? It was a lot easier making the pants the second time. One piece of Kenneth's advice that I decided not to take this time was the way he shortened the zipper. Instead of detaching the top zipper stops, I sewed together the bottom of the zipper where I wanted it (leaving the zipper stops intact) and then cut off all the teeth below my new stopping point. This resulted in WAY less headache in the long run, and I think I"ll do it that way from now on.

What you will need

  • Red-orange twill
  • metal zipper
  • jean button
  • ivory plastic buttons

Jjjki asked:
These are some hot tamale shorts. They look great - you must work out. Keep pushing the envelope to incorporate the stylish details that you are doing!
thenchuff answered:
Thanks!! And yes, I do work out. Haha :)
ginochka asked:
Excellent work. thank you for posting photos modeling the finished project. It actually encourages me to get started.
thenchuff answered:
Don't be afraid to get started! Kenneth breaks everything down into do-able steps. I'm constantly referring back to these videos whenever I make pants now.
