Purple Linen Jacket

What are you most proud of? The fit, the colour, the collar and welts, lapels. All the pattern pieces fitted together perfectly. It just needs to go to the dry cleaners now for a press. What advice would you give someone starting this project? A pattern to your measurements - isn't half the drama fit - this you cut and sew and it fits!! Great

Q&A with Pohutukawa

ValUK asked:
Your jacket looks lovely - I love the colour. I've just had a look at Lekala Patterns and I'll be giving them a try - I'm not a standard size so they'll be perfect for me. Thank you for the tip!
Pohutukawa answered:
Yes, I have no waist definition, and am long waisted - the fit was perfect - much better than adding 3 inches to the waist and a full bust adjustment every time I sew. Let me know how you get on
Scheri Manson asked:
Really nicely tailored jacket. Did you underline? What did you use? What did you use for lining.
Pohutukawa answered:
Hello! I just used iron on interfacing - I don't underline, the jacket is linen, the lining is a designer lining I purchased, these fabrics are from my stash!!
Bonheur asked:
Comme d'habitude: un vrai travail de pro! Bravo
Pohutukawa answered:
Merci
Pat Mitchell asked:
Your jacket is a wonderful addition to the many things in your closet. Love those welts!
