Polka Dot T-Shirt

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I was looking at one of my store-bought shirts, and noticed they sewed the neck band raw edge down using a twin needle--one needle on top of the seam, and one needle on the bottom. So, I tried it on this shirt. I think I like Meg's way better, though. The twin needle way leaves more raw edge flapping around.
