Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I kept trying until I got the tensions right. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Cut extra length for the ruffles. Gather the length you need and then cut the ends to match the pattern pieces. Too much time was spent adjusting the cut out fabric to the "base" requirements. Look for fabric on sale!

Amy Alan asked:
What!! I give you TEN GOLD STARS! This is amazing! I am so proud of you!
mbailey43 answered:
Thanks Amy. Since the mid-80's I've made a couple of efforts to find satisfaction with a serger. Thanks to you the third time is charmed.
JillStraw asked:
wow!!this is soooo cool!!!!
mbailey43 answered:
Thanks. I have a little 3 yr old friend who's life has been changed by a 1 week old brother. Thought she could use a "hideout."
goldenfleece asked:
Lucky little girls to have such a wonderful playhouse!!
mbailey43 answered:
Thanks. So far she's obsessed with the clunky "mail box" I sewed on. If I had only known, I could have glued that to a foam core board and called it a day. No, seriously, it was a labor of love.. Your comment means a lot.
goldenfleece asked:
Is it over a card table? Very cute and such great details. Windows, door, mailbox, roof and lanscaping. You should write up and sell this pattern if it is your design. It is ingenious.
mbailey43 answered:
If you look at the details of the project you will see that it is a Kwik Sew Pattern. I added the "grass" and flowers. It is over a card table. The pattern has you make a 9" foam core board cube to go under the roof. By that time I just used and inexpensive plastic storage basket.
angelfairy asked:
Too cute. I'd love to make one for my 2 granddaughters.
mbailey43 answered:
Thanks. I got a lot of pleasure out of providing a hide out for my little friend. If you do use this pattern, be aware that the patter for the side walls does NOT include the seam allowance.
