Perfect Bombshell Dress

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I haven't sewed anything since I was a teenager so I'm very proud how this turned out. The bodice has steel boning in it so it really has structure. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This project takes a while. Especially if you haven't sewed anything for a while or are a new sewer. I have a newborn at home so it took me extra long to complete but I did it in the end and now I love it!

love that green on you! stunning!

Thanks so much!
Tracymumto7 asked:
Wow you look fabulous! I love how you've trimmed the neckline with the darker contrast, really makes it pop. Did you need to make a lot of adjustments to the pattern. By looking at your dress I'd of thought you of done a full bust adjustment. I'm currently doing one for the bombshell dress. Finding it a little tricky to get the lines nice
Retro-iffic answered:
Thanks, yes I did have to make lots of adjustments on the bodice and bust. A muslin is your best friend when doing this. I made most of my mistakes on that. Then by the time I moved onto the dress fabric I was a pro! Just take your time with it. It will be worth it in the end.

Fits perfectly! I got a chuckle about the not sitting down part! :)
Retro-iffic answered:
Haha yeah I was nervous it would rip. Thank god for linning because I think that was all that stopped it. lol
