Project

Pattern Matching Bedroom Drapes

What are you most proud of? The end results. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time and measure 3 times to ensure correctness. Design everything on paper before cutting any fabric. Sew up a mock mini drape to test the look. I've included a photo of the lining as I as pressing it. This is the lining for just one of the two sides on the large window. It shows how much space it required when sewing such large draperies. I am lucky enough to have a very large basement to work in.

  • Richloom Django-Persian fabric. I had to match the pattern on these to give the pleats a uniform look. They are lined as well. The horizontal repeat ended up being 4.6 inches
  • which is a bit under the 5" minimum I would normally use. However
  • I wanted a full look
