Pant Construction

Project Description

What are you most proud of? the welt pockets! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Watch the pant construction class a few times before even attempting. Go slow. Embrace the seam ripper. Don't sew when tired or frustrated. I am a beginner. This is my first sewing project, and I think I should have started off with an easier pattern. The instructions that came with the pattern did not make sense to me. I am so thankful to have found Sandra's class. The front fly chapter was a life saver! I had no problem installing the zipper. I had to re-watch the waistband chapters a few times, and to be honest....I still haven't been able to do that "burrito technique" she went over. It is just not clear in the video (to me). The pants could have used a little more "tailoring". To be honest, I am soooo tired of redoing these pants. I have decided I will spare them of any more seam-ripping-lol. The next pair I make, I will address the crotch wrinkles, and baggy seat. Hopefully by then I will have recruited an extra pair of hands to help with all the pinning. So take home point....Sandra Betzina's Pant Construction Class!!! It is a must! I look forward to her posting more classes! I love her teaching style.
