One Dart Skirt Sloper

What are you most proud of? I got a pretty good fit the first time around although this isn't my first time drafting a skirt pattern it is my first pattern sloper. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Go for it!

Q&A with ButtaFliLuv

Frabjous asked:
If you don't mind me commenting, I happened to work on the skirt fit for a while now, and you need to make a wider back pattern piece. I would say, adding 1 1/2" to the back pattern width (that means 3" total, on both sides, from the waist to the hem), and adding two more darts in the back, with 1 1/2" intake each. This should fix the fabric pulling and dragging - you can see how your side seam is being pulled towards the back at the hip level - this is an indication that you need to add fabric there. Darts will take care of this excess fabric.
ButtaFliLuv answered:
Ok so your saying add 1 1/2" to the back side seam from waist to hem, then add a second dart of 1 1/2" at the waist. So the waist to high hip stays the same but the high hip to base is increased 3" around. If I do this than it wont be completely fitted like the sloper should be.
