Old Glam Wedding Dress - Bernina contest

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Vogue Pattern V1015 Link to website or photo voguepatterns.mccall.com/v1015-products-8945.php?page_id=316&search_control=display&list=search What are you most proud of? Making this dress felt like a huge accomplishment. It was a complicated pattern that took around three months to make, though I saved a ton of money by doing so. There was a lot of hand-sewing involved in the finishing stage, and just finishing by deadline was a big deal for me. My top and bottom are different sizes, so I had to mod the pattern to make the two size sets flow together. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Give yourself as much time as possible, and make a muslin first! Do not skip the muslin stage for this dress. The fit is a bit odd, and you don't want to put this much effort into something that won't fit.

What you will need

  • 100% undyed satin silk charmeuse and red polyester blend chiffon.
