North Pole Project

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That my sewing skills allow me to make anything I can imagine. I am very grateful to my grandmother and my mother for teaching me to sew. My granny taught me to properly use the machine, about fabrics, how to read & understand a pattern & how to construct a well made garment. My mom showed me how to be creative, use my imagination, to recycle, repurpose and to make whatever I could. I love to find new ways to sew! Oh, My newest obsession... Needle Felting! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start small. This pot took a long time to make. Also I found that sewing thru the cord was pretty hard on my old machine. So for my birthday my hubby bought me a new Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine. Yippie! It works so much better. And use new sharp, size 14 needles. This dulls needles fast. I hope this inspires you.

What you will need

  • I use cotton quilting fabrics. I love the colors and the weight & stiffness of new fabric works well. The batiks are very nice. I use cotton clothes line cord from Walmart (100 ft roll for less than $5). Each bowl will use a full spool of thread.
