My Daughter's Christmas Dress

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Australian Smocking & Embroidery Magazine Link to website or photo moderntraditionssmocking.blogspot.com What are you most proud of? That I actually completed it! The polyester fabrics were very difficult to work with and I had to deviate from some standard smocking practices to finish it. It half of it was hand-gathered--very time consuming. There is a lot of hand work on this dress. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you're smocking for the first time, use the traditional fabrics until you're used to the process.

What you will need

  • Beads
  • polyester crepe fabric and polyester organza for the overlay.

Your daughter's dress is beautiful. You can see the TLC that went into making this frock. Your wee one has excellent and very definitive taste. She is most fortunate to have a mommy who can think outside the box and accommodate her sense of style.
shanmodtraditio answered:
Thank you, I appreciate your compliment!
