I live in a remote area so I wasn't able to purchase fusible fleece. I rummaged through my stash to see how I could improvise. I found unfinished quilted placemats that I had made to coordinate with my daughter's planned redecoration of her kitchen and dining room. She had planned to use majolica colours. When she and her husband suddenly abandoned that colour scheme I abandoned my project. The placemat was a diagonal log cabin design on low loft quilt batting. The mat was 12.5" x 16.5" (not exactly the same as the class pattern but I decided to go with it). The fabrics are 100% good quality cotton. I particularly like the bug fabric- I thought that my grandson would get a kick out of it.
