Magic Pixie Dust & Neverland

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Mens French Court/Captain Hook Costume Butterick 4317 Link to website or photo www.etsy.com/listing/106785705/pirate-captain-costume-butterick-pattern What are you most proud of? Again, I am proud that my husband strives to please with the admiration he receives from his sons and others at the indulgence of fantasy play and pretend. I'm indeed very lucky to have married a man so willing to let me dress him in character. I'm also lucky he's so easy to wardrobe with the tall, lean and statuesque physique he has........... though 6'5" does get into buying extra fabric often enough. Add a hat and you can't clear doorways, but it makes a grand entrance! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be careful with the top stitching on crushed velvet, it can ruin your 'plush' effect if not done very neatly. The trim must be done neatly in order to look quality, also. I strive for theater quality in my costumes and the details are what make that happen. P.S. buy extra buttons for when they come up missing, as you will have others begging to borrow this Captain's costume for many years after completion. I'm holding onto it long enough to have those Peter Pan boys fit into it some day! ;-)
