Live Class Christie's Pattern

Name of Pattern Christie's custom draped pattern What was your inspiration? I taught a live draping and fitting class at Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion a few weeks ago. My students graciously let me take photos of their progress. Christie, draped her own pattern but could have done the same thing on a commercial pattern. the dress forms used are standard sizes similar to a pattern and after creating the pattern she needed to adjust it to her scale. Her work was so clean and easily visible. Not the length adjustments on the pattern- the upper front, a small amount in the bust curve and finally the lower torso. Her back pattern needed upper length deducted- interesting since she added to the front!!! Note her fit samples and how the pattern points now fall according to her body. she only had a little more length to take out of the back which I pinned out for her, and the front we converted the French dart to a loose bust and waist dart because she is making a loose less body hugging bodice to attach to a long flowy skirt. Here is where you can adjust the EASE to apply to any design. GREAT EXAMPLE!
