Project Description

What are you most proud of? Making a cloth art doll is indeed a journey. I learned early on that the creative process depends a great deal on inspiration. I am glad I took my time and let "Lenora" tell me what she wanted to look like. I found a quote by Andre Gide that sums things up: "Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better." What advice would you give someone starting this project? I found that looking at what other cloth art doll artists have done has given me the courage to learn the basics of doll making. Go to BING or GOOGLE and type in cloth art dolls. Then click on images. You will be amazed at all the wonderful art dolls that have been created.

What you will need

  • Lanora is my first completed cloth art doll. She is made from various fabrics
  • yarns and embellishments I picked out to complement her purpose - that of being a witch. She was a hoot to make and took a long time to complete since I was learning as I was creating.
