What advice would you give someone starting this project? Choose colours and patterns that make you smile when you look at them! None of these colours were chosen to go in any particular room in my house and yet it somehow fits wherever I put it. It's my favourite because it cheers me up when I look at it! This cushion is 60 x 70cm but could be made larger or smaller. The blue flowers and polka dot were sewn together first. The ribbon was then sewn over the seam before sewing the finished strip to the pink floral strip. The back is one piece of blue polka dot. The front and back were sewn right side together all around apart from a small section about 20cm. It was then turned right side out and ironed. It was filled with the filling from an old cushion that I pulled apart and fluffed out. Once filled I then sewed a seam around the whole cushion which closed up the seam opening and gave a finished and defined edge to the cushion. I was able to make this in an afternoon during the summer holidays, whilst also having an extension built, my mother in-law visiting and taxi-ing around my two teenage children! It is a very easy project! Have fun!
