Knit yoga top

What are you most proud of? Adapting skills learned in the knits class to a different pattern and different kind of knit fabric. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice using the elastic for the neckline and armscye on some scraps first, and don't be afraid to stretch the heck out of it while sewing. If it looks lumpy, press it and try it on. I found this slippery, super stretchy swim-suit-like material more difficult to work with than cotton jersey, but it is very forgiving, and when put on and stretched to fit you can't see many flaws.

  • This was adapted from a leotard pattern in a Kwik Sew sport knit sewing book from the 80s. It is a super stretchy cotton spandex with 2 way stretch and lots of rebound.
