Project

jacket express

What are you most proud of? I cut out and interfaced the pattern pieces and made the jacket the next day. Then I ruined the "express" nature of the jacket by hand stitching the button holes and by stitching in a lining by hand :). I used a few pins on the sleeves and cuffs but it was alot quicker not pinning every seam. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is an easy jacket to make following Janets excellent course. Gutterman upholstery thread worked well for topstitching but required a much higher tension than ordinary thread.

Q&A with zinc6

laurel aka betsy ross asked:
I luv it!..luv that you lined it as well..I too had thought about hand stitch buttonholes but decided to let my machine do it instead..very good work!
zinc6 answered:
Thanks laurel, My machine wont make auto buttonholes on heavy fabric so I had no choice - they turned out ok anyhow.
Janet Pray asked:
Excellent job! It looks wonderful on you. :)
zinc6 answered:
Thanks Janet - but that's my mum not me :)
