Project

Infant 'day dress'

What are you most proud of? I added pin gucks on the bodice, in addition to the pin tucks called for in the skirt hem. It is a sweet pattern for a baby girl. The photos show the front bodice and the back view. The back has a very interesting cross-over closure. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just find some old patterns and start sewing!! It is fun. I have photographed the original pattern as one of the 'photos' for this project in case you might be interested in locating the pattern.

Q&A with dottyeb

ASiverson asked:
Cute, cute dress. Love the pintucks. I've purchased several older patterns with the same thought, just sew them up for the enjoyment.
dottyeb answered:
Thank you. I love heirloom sewing and sewing from vintage patterns. Although this pattern isn't probably old enough to be considered 'vintage', I enjoyed making it in contemporary fabrics instead of batiste, leno, etc. usually associated with heirloom and 'vintage' sewing.
