Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Butterick 4684 Link to website or photo butterick.mccall.com/b4684-products-4805.php?page_id=366 What are you most proud of? The fit. My dress form allowed me to fit it well. My form is a Uniquely You which my husband help me fit the cover onto. I kept losing weight while it was happening so I had to go back and refit it a couple of times, but it was such a help for this project. (I'm planning on losing my last 15 lbs. this summer. He'll love fitting a new cover on me!) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be free with experimentation and practice, practice, practice the embroidery. I made three facings before I got one that actually looked the way I wanted it to look.

What you will need

  • A Michael Miller cotton for the body and a white cotton from my stash for the "facing". I used silk organza to interface and a wash-away stabilizer to draw the embroidery design and stabilize it as I sewed.
