Project

Hurrah for jeans!

What are you most proud of? Having jeans that actually fit me! I think I did a really nice job with the topstitching, too, considering I didn't have a double needle that actually works well with my machine. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid to give it a shot--the fitting can take some time, even when working from a well-fitting pair of jeans, but it's so worth it! (Also, Mr. King's front fly zipper method really is genius. Easiest time I have ever had with one!)

Q&A with sunnyb64

JuliN asked:
Great job! The jeans fit really well.
sunnyb64 answered:
Thank you!
A.A. asked:
Love your top - did you make that, too?
sunnyb64 answered:
No, that was a Banana Republic top that I found at the thrift store. I've thought about trying to copy it, though, because it keeps tearing! (I did make the scarf, though.)
Scheri Manson asked:
Geat fitting jeans. Can you copy a pair of trousers in this class or only jeans?
sunnyb64 answered:
Some of the sewing techniques would probably be different for trousers rather than jeans, but I would think you can apply the same pattern-making principles.
Davesmom asked:
Your jeans are lovely!
sunnyb64 answered:
Thanks!
Karla Zaldana asked:
Really nice how long did it take you to finish it?
sunnyb64 answered:
I started really working on this class back in April. But it was pretty on-and-off for awhile--work was really busy back in the spring, I was doing some other sewing projects in the meantime, and I got engaged. So plotting out how to sew a wedding dress was a little distracting--I just didn't want to leave these unfinished until after I get that project done!
