hemming jeans

hemmed 1.25" off these expensive designer jeans. i was scared to ruin them but i did it! now onto the next 2 pairs! :) measuring oneself for hemming is tough. at first i thought 5/8" was enough but it was not. the toughest part is getting over the "hump" but my machine came with plastic spacers to help. i used triple stitch with poly thread; for my other pairs of jeans i plan to pick up some topstitching thread (because ripping out triple stitch is a pita, and even worse was my great idea to add in the thread bar before i tried on the pants).
