What are you most proud of? I remember when I first started sewing I was interested in the Alabama Chanin books until I noticed they were all about hand-sewing. My thoughts on hand-sewing at the time were "Oh hell no!" :P And then I took this class and realised hand-sewing is far from the tedious task I'd always assumed it was so I was inspired enough to want to make the jacket. But first I decided to try out a sample before committing to the jacket in the class, just to make sure I'd be able to do it. I'm just happy it looks pretty. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If it's a new technique, just try it out using whatever you have lying around. I used my kids' markers and a stencil from a furniture restoration book I had along with the leftovers from a shirt I'd just finished sewing.
