TopChic Studios asked:
This was easy to make, would like more information on creating the strap. Had a little difficulty there. But otherwise it was quite easy. I used a stretch cotton. Will be making it again in another fabric.
the instructions for the strap (neck tie) is on the sewing instructions page 8, it's bias cut strips that you sew together, then fold in half sew 1/4" seam and turn to make tubing. I don't understand why you would add a zipper. The dress was made tried out in every size and no one had trouble put the dress on. Also if you read the instruction carefully, these are not straps it's a tubing that goes through the casing of back and front. This is on page 8 of the instructions. I hope this helped.
Would you be interested in making 3 of these for my bridesmaids?? The wedding is in august 2016. We could talk price? I can't sew, but love this dress. It would go perfect with the theme!!
That could be done, contact me directly at my email, email@example.com. Let me know what fabric you have in mind and the size of the bridesmaid. Where you are located and your budget. Thanks!
I see there are two layers. One is eyelet and the other is just plain underneath. How do you combine the two? It only showed instructions for the eyelet
Cut all in both fabric, sew bodice layers together as one. Follow instructions the same as it would be for single layer. Sew skirt eyelet at the sides seams, sew underskirt at sides seams. Then join both skirt at waist using with basting stitch, then follow the instructions for sewing skirt to bodice. Finish hem as desired.
