Gertie's Wiggle Dress

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo The Wiggle Dress Link to website or photo www.amazon.com/gp/product/1584799919/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1584799919&linkCode=as2&tag=thsela-20 What are you most proud of? I am happy I stepped outside of my comfort zone for this one. I don't usually sew tight skirts. I usually stick to a-lines and full skirts because I am very pear shaped. But I took a chance and I am happy the way it turned out. I can't say I am totally comfortable in a dress that is so "notice me!", but with the help of some quality foundation garments, I feel ok wearing it in public. Read the instructions in the book for gussets. The craftsy free course on zippers helped for the lapped zipper. That has been my favorite technique for installing an invisible zipper so far. I also went on you tube for a nice tutorial for installing the vent in the back of the skirt.
