Project

Frankenbag

I made this bag out of fat quarters, because fat quarters were all I had available. (You should really use appropriate amounts of fabric; don't be an impatient dweeb like me.) Modifications: - Used five different prints instead of three due to fabric limitations (Main 1: zig zags; Main 2: elephants; Pockets: stars; Lining: blue camouflage; Handle: something between a paisley and a fleur de lis) - No outer pocket - Two inner pockets - Handles were pieced together from 10" x 4" and 8.5" x 4" strips (really, don't use fat quarters) This was my first machine sewing project involving more than two dimensions and varying seam allowances. I had a lot of fun getting to know my new sewing machine while building this tote, and I'm excited to make one by actually following the directions next time instead of having to fudge things!
