Floral Print Thai Silk Jacket

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I've only been sewing for about six months, so I'm quite pleased that it looks good. The zippers and welt pockets look fine, and I used Janet Pray's burrito method to enclose the seams at the cuffs, waistband and collar. And I would have bonded permanently with my seam ripper without Linda Lee. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Study your craftsy classes. And be bold with your silk. It was not as challenging as I feared. I actually used Janet Pray's nearly pinless method of stitching and I found I had a good deal more control of the fabric. I also posted this project to Janet's class.

What you will need

  • Jim Thompson silk for the shell
  • gold dupioni silk for the lining
  • and interlined with wool jacketing.
