What are you most proud of? Making something for my niece she will love while avoiding using yellow or polka dots - both of which she recently informed me she dislikes immensely. (Yellow was her color in my stash ....ugh...kids!). The dress in the photo is as yet not hemmed. I'm waiting to try it on her to finish the length properly the first go-round. The bottom panel is as log as the first two. As she grows I'll be able to let the hem down so we'll get another summer of wear out of it with any luck! What advice would you give someone starting this project? A few simple measurements are needed for a child-specific dress. Otherwise the sizing charts are perfect. For any other child I sew for, I wouldn't even have bothered to double check height and chest circumferences. Try it in different fabrics and patterns. It will be a lot of fun. I'll be making more of these in many sizes. They're quick, easy and cute.
