Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am very proud of the fact that we started and finished this hoodie in an afternoon and she had never sewn anything bigger than dolls clothes before. The look on her face when she was able to put it on and wear it was very gratifying and we are both looking forward to trying out the other patterns. What advice would you give someone starting this project? It is very clearly explained in the videos and very simple to put together. For anyone who is just beginning to sew, it is a terrific first project and for people with more sewing background, the possibilities for creative expression are endless. The pattern is simple to put together and very clear..Have a go and have some fun.

What you will need

  • Light weight fleece.

Your hoodie looks fantastic, the pocket is a very nice addition!
Sarg answered:
Thanks very much..it was great fun to do.
knit5together asked:
excellent (and necessary) pocket :)
Sarg answered:
Thank you, she liked the plain front, at first, but then decided to try Meg's suggestion of a pocket..works well.
mjcaron asked:
The pocket totally makes it. I was wondering if it would be possible to taper the bottom and add a draw string. I'm not a huge fan of the really wide bottom. Any suggestions? You seem to have a good handle on sewing.
Sarg answered:
Thank you for the vote of confidence...to do that I would straighten out the side seam from under the arm first and that would get rid of the flare shape
