Fingerless mitts with cuffs

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I struggled with the cuff. I tried to knit on a new cuff, and crochet on a border. Both didn't appeal to me. I had recently cut up a .50 cent silk shirt and was ironing it to use as fabric and was playing with the cuffs. Thought of making a cuff bracelet but then I saw the unfinished mitt and found the answer. I used the shirt buttons as decorations. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Some sweater arms are too loose and might fall off your hands. You might need to sew a new, tigher side seam. In this case, I also added a bit of "C" shaping to hug in at the wrist flaring at the thumb and wrist. Possibilities are endless. Play and experiement. I did put the button on the inside of the wrist as a design element and to make it super easy to button on and off. What ever type of cuff you put on, be sure it stretches enough, or opens enough to slide over your hand.

What you will need
