Project

Fiesta Flavor

What was your source for this sewing project? Improvisational What are you most proud of? I braided strands of hemp cord to lasso the circumference of the basket, stitching it in place with tan upholstery thread. The tight lasso firms the side walls (reduces floppy-flex in larger baskets). I decorated the basket with 4 strands of colorful bubble gums beads and handmade polymer clay buttons. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Check out my previous basket projects for instructions how to sew these wonderful baskets. It is a great scrap buster!!!! (Project #122)

Q&A with Shoestring

Marie Withrow asked:
Wow! I just love this. Such wonderful colors, fabrics, design, everything!!
Shoestring answered:
Hello Marie. How are you doing?
K Lee 2Strings asked:
Oh, these are so nice, Shoestring. I'm sure your customers simply can't get enough of them. Are you selling any of these online?
Shoestring answered:
Hi 2strings. I'm working projects for a show end of November. My last show was in September; it was wonderful. I'll be teaching baskets, and polymer clay techniques in 2014 at my studio. My new long arm quilting business is growing. All is well, but very busy.
