Fiber Bowl

What are you most proud of? I think this is a really cool finished piece and it was fun to make! The fibers could have just as easily ended up in the trash, but I keep all my cuts in a bowl on my sewing table. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Explore!

Q&A with DonaleeK

quilt-a-lot asked:
This is just sensational! I have seen this technique used on art quilts but never thought to try making a 3D shape. How clever! Did you shape it into a bowl as you laid out the textiles or did you lay it out flat and somehow stitch it 'up'?
DonaleeK answered:
Thank you, you have made my day! I shaped it over a bowl after free motion stitching the two layers of stabilizer together. When is was still wet from the rinse I laid it over the bowl and kind of fluted the edges. It's so fun!!! Using mostly scraps!
