Exposed Zipper Bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I systematically explored all the stitches and played around with the tensions before I started the project. Also after having to unpick each side of the zipper once, that I managed to get it right and almost even :o) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Perhaps to make the tabs a bit longer so that the raw edges stick out beyond the seam line, or to use some dissolving double sided stick tape to keep them in place. You have to remove your pins before they hit the blades and that's quite a way in front of the needles. My tab had slipped without me being able to see it, tape or a longer tab might have prevented this.

What you will need

  • Quilting cotton
  • fusible fleece
  • zipper.

Amy Alan asked:
It looks beautiful, Mandy! Have you ever heard of Wash-Away Wonder Tape? It may be just the tape you're looking for for your tabs (and it can be used on the zipper too). Great job!
InLoveWithLinen answered:
Thanks Amy, I'm happy with how it turned out and imagine I will be making more of these. I could have mixed up the name of the tape to be honest because I threw away the outer packaging, but it is a double sided soluble tape which might just do the trick.
Jill-1234 asked:
Super cute!!!
InLoveWithLinen answered:
Thanks Jill
