Eco cloth pads

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Make your own menstrual cloth pads Link to website or photo http://www.etsy.com/shop/SylvChezPlum?section_id=7515187 What are you most proud of? The fact that these are twice eco-friendly: By washing them instead of using disposable ones, it's less garbage AND I used mostly recycled materials for them, so they're CHEAP to make !! :-) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try and you will never look back !! They are very EASY to make and CARE for, and I have included lots of information and tips on how to wash them. All my friends who have tried them are now enthusiastic about making their own pads !

What you will need

  • A fat quarter of designer fabric for outside layer
  • and only RECYCLED materials for the inside layers. :-)

Q&A with Sylvie Damey

Terrilynne asked:
This is very interesting, and I'd love to try this myself, I've tried to download your pattern, but it won't open. Can you help me? Thanks Terri
Sylvie Damey answered:
Hi, can you send me an email to sylvieATchezplumDOTcom to sort it out ?
Kitsune asked:
this is very interesting. Im going to try this, this does work good right?
Sylvie Damey answered:
I just can't imagine going back to plastic/disposable pads any more. They work fantastic for me, and the nice thing is that I have all sorts of pads, with thicker and longer ones for my heaviest flow..
ColleenRose asked:
With pads this pretty, who wouldn't want their period?! :)
Sylvie Damey answered:
exactly ;-)
