Project

Duffle coat - Rain coat - 6yo boy

Project Description

What are you most proud of? the final looks, the hardest project I ever did in sewing it looks great on my son What advice would you give someone starting this project? read the instructions three times, and try out some techniques beforehand, anyword you don't know look it up! , topstitching, fusible etc it is not an easy one, it takes focus and lots of thinking, instructions are probably meant for someone with experience waxed cotton is hard because if you make a mistake and rip up a stitch line... little holes will show! probably wool, boiled wool, or other fabrics would be easier. take measures of your "model" (my son in my case) and check it with the pattern minus the seams allowances, it probably is a little tight on the shoulder, or my son has large shoulders. ! don't count the hours you take doing this, consider the whole doing process as some meditation...

What you will need

  • outer fabric: waxed - waterproof cotton - camouflage green-brown white print lining : printet cotton medium weight - pea-green on brown buttons: toggles in real horn - 3 of them pattern: digital from www.oliverands.com personal details added: hanger at the neckline and hidden front breast pocket in the lining
