Project

Da Bom in Black Pleather

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Improvisational What are you most proud of? Manipulating this stiff black crazed pleather upholstery fabric is a challenge. START OUT WITH NEW NEEDLE for maximum glide and control of this fabric. I made a matching padded mini purse--just the right size padding for my camera--keeps it from knocking around in the purse. I made it by free motion quilting a hunk of lining fabric to a polar fleece foundation. A cotton loop and handmade polymer clay button for mini purse closure. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Remember to change your machine needles often--avoids all kinds of problems. I can give you a long list of things that can go wrong if you use old dull machine needles. Like they say here in Wisconsin, Uf-dah! (Norwegian for Oh My Gosh!)
