Crocodile-Embossed Convertible Clutch

What you will need

  • Crocodile-embossed nappa leather
  • cotton batik lining
  • bright pink nylon Supplex zippered pocket lining
  • facile hex frame closure
  • nickel-plated brass hardware
  • metal chain
  • cold rubber tape
  • 1/4" Wonder tape
  • 1" 3M 465 transfer tape
  • Metrosene polyester thread (doubled up for topstitching)
  • Isacord embroidery thread for machine-embroidered label.

Thanks! It isn't an original idea, but I had to figure out how to hide the ends of the woven-in leather. I also like that you can use it as a clutch by either removing the strap, or just letting it drop inside the bag.

I live in a small town in Australia and getting a range of topstitching (and other requirements) is difficult. A case of 'necessity is the mother of invention" with regard to the topstitching! Thanks! Glad the tip was helpful. I also live in a small town (but in the US), and have to order most of my supplies online. I learned the topstitching trick from Kenneth D. King's "Jeanius" class on Craftsy.
