Q&A with jennyrecorder

hansity asked:
Love the color and the lace at the neckline.
jennyrecorder answered:
Thanks, at the end my (teenage) daughter didn't like it enough for me to wear it to her school dinner!
sewmad5 asked:
I think it's lovely and the lace adds a nice romantic touch. And what do teens know!
jennyrecorder answered:
Thanks :) They think they know it all!!!
Scheri Manson asked:
Dont give up on your toile. Once you get your bodice perfect the waistband will work beautifully. The skirt is the easiest when you are working with underlining. Your hem will be invisible.
jennyrecorder answered:
Thanks for the advice :) I'm thinking of replacing the sleeves with something different, any suggestions?
TottyB asked:
Your toile is coming along fine! And that's the beauty of a toile - it gives you the opportunity for you to alter your garment to your requirements. Have you seen the book: 'Fit for real people"? It might give you more pointers on the look that you'd like to achieve for your requirements For my project, I noticed that the sleeves that came with the pattern were not for me, so I changed them. But I'm still debating whether to keep them or not!! Also here are some suggestions for sleeves: tulip, cap, plain short sleeves, or even go sleeveless!! The sleeve pattern provided with this project is easy to adapt, here is a tutorial on tulip sleeve: http://sewchicpatterns.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/make-your-own-tulip-sleeve-tutorial.html. Good luck with your project
jennyrecorder answered:
Thanks for the tips on the sleeves, time to draw onto a croqui methinks! I fleetingly thought about going sleeveless, but being an ex-bodybuilder, their size discounts that !!!
JAY11BEE01 asked:
very nice dress and the colour too still to start mine
jennyrecorder answered:
Thanks, I ended up putting cap sleeves on using some of the leftover lace, it looks much better now :)
