Course blouse

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This blouse just took a week (evenings) sewing, it has a few defects but it is still wearable! Also I had my problems working with silk, it is far more slippery than the cotton I have always used! :-P What advice would you give someone starting this project? It is quite easy to do and I like the blouse - the shape is really original, so go for it!

What you will need

  • cotton/silk fabric

Q&A with valeriabrev

WaterRat asked:
it's lovely! I do like the shape and great fabric choice! Did you alter the pattern much apart from swapping to the bias? (ease, length etc?)
valeriabrev answered:
thank you! no I almost did not alter the pattern at all - it was already perfect for my measurements - and by the way this is not on the bias, the skirt will be but not the blouse... but I am waiting to make the skirt as I have not found the right fabric yet, hoping I will get something at summer sales!! :-)
DebRah326 asked:
Beautiful! Love your fabric and the buttons you have chosen also. Sandra is a delightful person/teacher - I'm about to sign up for this class :o) Thank-you for sharing your lovely creation.
valeriabrev answered:
Thank you!
Julia Batt asked:
Wow! This is gorgeous. What pattern did you use? Is it one that came with the sassy librarian course?
valeriabrev answered:
this is the pattern that comes with the course skirt - sewing on the bias - Sandra explains a little bit of tricks for the blouse at the end of the course. Glad you like it!:-)
Ginger Penny asked:
Beautiful job. I especially love the multi colored buttons.
valeriabrev answered:
