Classic Tailored Shirt

What are you most proud of? Finished it! And I'll actually wear it! Definitely lots of room for improvement, but not too bad first time out. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice basic techniques first, know your machine, used quality material.

Q&A with TobeH

Joanna Y asked:
Very nice! Good job!
TobeH answered:
Thank you very much! Definitely a challenge, but so far it's not fallen apart! :)
Diannamc asked:
Nice job! I can't wait to give that class a try. I am also a beginner.
TobeH answered:
Thank you! Yes, I love the way Pam teaches, very thoroughly, and with humor and encouragement. I started learning through the Sewing Studio class by Diana Rupp, also on Craftsy (as well as quite a bit of reading), and didn't realize how much fun it would be! I really don't need another hobby, but my wife likes her new skirts! :)
Linda74Sews asked:
If you are a new sewer, you are off to a very good start .The workmanship looks great. Sewing is indeed a fun hobby to have. Been doing it for over 50 years and am still learning new things. Bravo and can't wait for your next project.
TobeH answered:
Wow! Thank you! I think having a background in woodworking helped: attention to detail, following instructions, fixing mistakes...! I think I might get brave and alter the pattern a little next time, try to get that wrinkle off the front.
Sharonrenee asked:
Great job looks really good, you are a natural
TobeH answered:
Thank you! Hopefully, I can keep improving and learning about this amazing craft!
Lizzy Beth asked:
Very well done!!! I need to get less busy and start this class. You did an amazing job. Congratulations!!!
TobeH answered:
Thanks so much! I'm in the process of shirt number 2, made from a twin bed sheet set that had an interesting pattern! It was going to be a muslin to practice an alteration, but it's coming out pretty good!
