Christmas Stockings and Pillows

Project Description

What are you most proud of? When I was a child my maternal Grandmother made Christmas stockings for me and my three siblings. They were handmade and used for over 25 years. Sadly, they were lost in a move. Several years ago I found a picture of my older sister's and replicated it as she was going to visit us at Christmas. She was so surprised and for a second, thought I had found the original! I did not take a picture of it. I then made one for my elder son and his wife which are pictured, as well as one I made for my younger son. I was happy to continue the tradition and think they look cute. The pillows make nice stocking stuffers and gifts. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The hardest part for me was drawing a template for tracing the parts. I suggest looking online for a shape you like and then start with that. For the pillows, just print your images, and sew them as the center of your pillows right sides together leaving a small opening, turn stuff and sew opening by hand.
