Burda Draped Front Mini Dress

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I had to take apart the left shoulder seam and facing and part of the sleeve cap after she tried it on and, turns out, she's 1/2" lower on that side due to scoliosis. I did it carefully (everything had been serged) and now it fits fine on both sides and the fabric survived! What advice would you give someone starting this project? This pattern is pretty easy to make once you decipher burda's "special" style of translated instructions :-). Also, there are a lot of opportunities to make changes for different looks. See what you can come up with. Don't let the instructions (really bad for this top/dress) put you off. Walk away and think about it then come back with a clear head.

What you will need

  • Rayon/Lycra blend jersey knit
  • fusible knit interfacing
  • stay tape.
