Project Description

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time, make sure you have enough of all your fabric and make the correct calculations and measurements and that your seam allowances are consistant, especially if you are changing the width of the valance.

  • Cloud9 Tsuru 1000 Cranes Cerulean
  • Michael Miller's Cotton Couture Clementine (trim
  • piping)
  • blackout drapery lining
  • 1x3 72" board
  • staple gun

What are the dimentions of this window? Did you have to alter the pattern for width? Looks very nice and is similar to one of my windows. Thanks.
Kristy answered:
The window is exactly 70 inches wide, and I made my valance 72 inches wide. Because it was over 70" I did the extra inset/pleat modification to add one in the middle. So both of my center panels are 24" wide and my sides are both 12" wide (+ all seam allowances). The longest parts of the valance are 20" long, and the center section is 15" long. Hope that helps with your window!
