Bias Cut Yoke Stretchy Denim Jacket

What are you most proud of? The topstitching looks pretty good. I had to rip out quite a bit of it because I was not satisfied with sections. Having a walking foot helped keep the stitches even. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Hunt until you find a fabric you like and want to wear. Don't be afraid to rip out stitches if you don't the results. Think about arm and body length. Are you tall or do you have long arms.

  • When I went to the store to buy fabric for this project nothing "spoke" to me so I ended up with a patterned stretchy denim. It was ok to work with.

Q&A with DTurner

Janet Pray asked:
Great job! Love the added touch of simple embroidery. Thank you for sharing!!
DTurner answered:
No traditional embroidery but I glued on some metal embellishments. I have been complemented on the light blue topstitching which is echoed in the fine blue striped fabric.
