Q&A with tlroch

devedoo162961368 asked:
Beautiful! Do u have a tutorial on how to stitch this dress??
tlroch answered:
Sorry, no tutorial. A satin corset, very fitted, with attached tulle in many layers. Tulle over the top with a satin bias piece for the neck.
Hallel Sullivan asked:
How do you get that shape with the tulle does anyone know?
tlroch answered:
About 5 layers of tulle with a fold at the bottom and gathered into the waist. I then fluffed and separated and pulled the layers back up into the skirt to get the effect I wanted and hand stitched (tacked) areas to create fullness. It held up very well all night even with lots of dancing twirling.
BabySerendipity asked:
Did u use a pattern? This is exactly the style of dress i hav ebeen looking for for 4 years xxx
tlroch answered:
I used a pattern to get me started on the top, but altered it quite a bit. I can't remember which pattern it was. The top also has a lot of boning to keep it shaped. Other that that, I did the rest myself.
1SushiDiva asked:
Wow thats beautiful! Did you use the tulle for the top and back as well?
tlroch answered:
Tulle over satin. With a satin bias for the neck edging
