A-line skirt in corduroy

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It turned out well over all. Happy with it. : ) I think I am most proud of that it actually looks wearable. haha What advice would you give someone starting this project? I made 3 muslins and actually ended up drafting several patterns. The first one I thought was too small, but I got the second two big. I was confused on how tight to measure I guess and was messing with different amount of ease. Finally pattern 3 turned out good. I made a yolk version with inseam pockets and zipper in the back, but the skirt looked horrible ugly. I tossed it and went to the store to get new/different fabric and redid the pattern again so the zipper would be on the side instead of the back..No pockets. This time the skirt turned out nicely. I made the darts, that later became the yolk, a bit bigger/wider in the back than the front. Skirts and pants often have a gap in the back for me. So my advice would be not to be discouraged it the first attempts doesn't turn out good and that the mistakes are a good learning experience. I am sure I am going to make lots of them in the future.
