Project

60's Spring coat Retro

What are you most proud of? I am proud of making my first coat. I also am proud that I changed the pattern to things I wanted. I put button holes in in stead of using loops to clothes coat. I added pockests on both sides. I added darts in the back for a little more shape. I love changing patterns to fit my personalized style What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep working on it until you get it right. The lining for the pattern was to come all the way to the edge of the coat. I tried to add the facings with fabric like Linda showed. It didn't come out perfect but it was my first time to add facings I had to make myself instead of the lining to the edges. I will just get better with the next project.

  • I used a tweed fabric. Lined with a polyester fabric. I used an iron on fusible interfacing to strenghten the fabric so it wouldnt fray too much. I also serged the seams
