The Riverwalk Skirt & Faux Wrap Skirt is comfortable and stylish, and it fits preteens and teens from size 7 through size 18. This skirt can be sewn as a traditional A-line or with the faux wrap-around front that allows a little peek at the fabric underneath. The fold-over yoga-style waistband allows the skirt to be worn high on the waist for a mid-calf length or low on the hips as a maxi-skirt. -------------------- The Riverwalk Skirt is part of the Jersey Love series by Fishsticks Designs. These patterns are designed specifically for stretch cotton/spandex or cotton/lycra jerseys. (Some Jersey Love patterns can also be used with other knits, so be sure to check the fabric recommendations.) Many of the edges are left raw to take advantage of the way that jerseys curl up after washing and drying. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Sizes 7 through 18 : Preteen and Teen

  • Fabrics & Notions: Cotton or cotton blend jerseys are recommended for the best results. (Cotton or cotton blend interlocks will work for the skirt, but they will not curl on the edges.) Cotton/spandex or cotton/lycra jersey or rib knit for waistband (Cotton knits without spandex or lycra will not have the recovery to work properly in the waistband.)

Fishsticks Designs
Fishsticks Designs offers sewing patterns for unique and modern clothing that is always practical for you and your family. Fishsticks Designs was born from my desire to not only sew clothing for my own children but also to teach other moms (and grandmas, and aunts, and maybe even a few dads) to do the same. Each of my patterns includes step-by-step instructions with words and pictures so that you can read and see what to do next. It's almost like sitting in my sewing room with me. It's at least the closest that I can get without you stopping by for a visit. I'm blessed to be mom to six children, two girls and four boys. Because my youngest three are boys and they're the ones I sew for the most, I tend to focus my designing on patterns that work great for boys. I also enjoy creating patterns with an incredible amount of versatility so that you can become comfortable with a pattern and go back to it again and again without your end products looking exactly the same. I want you to be able to build a whole wardrobe for your child from just a few patterns. I begin each pattern with a hand-drawn design and work to get the fit just right for my little ones. Then I transfer my hand-drawn design the computer and create a digital design which is then graded up and down to each of the sizes included with the pattern. Once the pattern is ready, I call on my skilled testers to test out the pattern, instructions and sizing. My end goal is to give you a great-fitting, easy-to-follow pattern each time!
