Captain Badger served his country proudly in his youth and wears his war award medals as a reminder. He likes to volunteer at the animal hospital and tell patients about his past adventures. He has a beautiful vegetable garden where he grows prize-winning watermelons. He likes Mr. Fox's pies, but his favorite part of visiting his friend is playing Crazy 8's. Vintage children's stories with animals wearing clothes and carrying on in human-like lives are a huge inspiration to me. Peter Rabbit, Wind in the Willows, Richard Scarry's books were all my favorites as a kid. Having a little boy of my own now and sharing those beloved stories with him has brought them all back for me. I love to sketch little characters, and one day I drew a jacketed little badger fellow, and I could hardly sleep until I had recreated him in three dimensions. And here is the pattern so that you can create him too! With the purchase of this pattern, you are licensed to sell objects made from it!
