Learn how to make String Back Packs, including this bag shown that you can attach an Art Case to for travel. I made these to use in Walt Disney World with the main idea of protecting my family's drawings done at the Hollywood Studios Animation Academy where you learn to draw a Disney character in a 20 minute class. That became the highlight for my art-driven kids so preserving the drawings from being squished in a normal pack, or pocket and from the Florida rainshowers became important. My hubby designed a tube that could be inserted into the Art case to make sure they were in a completely waterproof container. Send me a message if you are interested in getting one of those tubes for purchase separately from this. After drawing class just roll up the drawings and put them inside the case! The case is also a separate piece from the Back pack and can be worn over the shoulder or clipped onto the back pack. You can omit the case and just make the simple back pack. It's also great for those posters you may pick up while you are in the parks, or on the road traveling. This string Back Pack is one of the most comfortable packs I have worn. I don't even notice it when walking around the parks, and as a mom I have to carry alot of different things! The cording is the essential element to the comfort level. Get something sturdy but wider, about 1/4" minimum in width. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Sew a straight line. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Back Pack: Has a zippered pocket outside and one inside. Measures: 17" High by 14 1/2" wide. Fits adults and youth. Travel Art Case: Has a drawstring closure, a webbing handle, a webbing adjustable shoulder strap

  • Uses hardware common to national sewing store stock.

I love to make things that I like to use, so I have a wide variety of patterns as a result of that. I have sewn for more years than I care to admit to...let's just say, for decades. I enjoy making patterns and sharing them with others. I try very hard to make them as easy to understand as I can. It is my hope that this is a way of helping others make things they like to use too. Please contact me if you have any questions about your pattern, I am happy to help. Thank you!
